A World Bank Banjul Financed WAAPP Office Burnt To Ashes; 15Computers Stolen; Archives And Storerooms Raked To The Ground!!

A World Bank Banjul based financed West Africa Agricultural Productivity Project has been exterminated by unknown arsonists and thieves, as the office of the former manager of WAAPP Tijan Sosseh, has been firebombed after the attackers escaped with 15 computers—completely destroying Mr. Sosseh’s offices space archive division and storerooms, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report.  The incident happened few days ago. The Gambia government is not keen at discussing the matter—thus speculations are rife in town that the incident could have been state managed. Accusing fingers are being pointed at Dictator Jammeh’s constituted elite assassin team, as being allegedly responsible for the firebombing of the WAAPP offices.

'VAT MACHINES ARE KILLING BUSINESSES IN GAMBIA,' BUSINESSMEN COMPLAIN

Business Owners Say The Gambia Is Not Yet Ready For VAT; Lamenting About The Worthiness Of The Machines

Local businesses in the Gambia are not the least happy with the recently introduced Value Added Tax (VAT) machines, which were imported into the country by businessman Muhammed Jah's Quantum net company.  Their displeasure is centered around the machines' "worthiness, lack of reliability and proper maintenance" in the event of system glitch issues. The VAT machines were said to have been imported from Germany. The Ministry of Finance is reported to have spent D36 Million dalasi in purchasing the VAT machines. But the machines are not popular in the market. Business owners said the machine are not that effective and once it is reported faulty, it is hard to get it fixed. This is the machine that the regime uses to calculate VAT  sales taxes leveled against consumers and business owners at cash registers.

Dear Pa Nderry,

I have been keenly following your issue with Alagie Morr Jobe online and it is very much interesting. You don’t have to worry yourself about that idiot who was born for nothing but just to serve as a serial killer for Yahya Jammeh. His days are numbered even though we understand he is a great survivor because he vowed to expose the president if he is fired any day.

Gambia - Threaten A Soldier Who Looks At Him Weirdly At The Wrestling Ground; Soldier Sarjo Badjie Yanked Out From JK’s Security Detail!

Last Saturday while in Kanilai with our sick “President Jallow Kanilai” a rather embarrassing incident happened at the park. The paranoid and confused JK confronted one of our soldiers Sarjo Badjie and verbally assaulted him in my presence. Sarjo Badjie is married to JK’s niece Ndey Jammeh. JK’s beef against Sarjo was; he said he doesn’t like the way Sarjo looks at him while he (JK) was at the park behaving foolish and stupid while a wrestling contest he organized was in high gears.

We escorted the President from his little villa in Kanilai to a nearby park, where he was acting crazy by touching and robbing his hands on the wrestlers heads and body. JK would occasionally pretend to be praying for the wrestlers by putting his praying beads on their head.

Ahead of March polls -Bissau authorities begin registration of 35,000 nationals in Gambia

Thursday, January 16, 2014

As the dust surrounding the upcoming March 16th presidential and parliamentary elections gather pace, the Bissau-Guinean authorities have begun the biometric voter registration process of its 35,000 nationals in The Gambia.

The process that began earlier this week came against the backdrop of a series of sensitisation programmes by the Bissau-Guinean authorities in Banjul.

Polls in Bissau were initially scheduled for November 24th, 2013 after a military coup cancelled the 2012 elections, but due to several logistical problems and other administrative constraints, it has been shifted to March 16 2014. Given the length of the transitional period, authorities are poised to conduct the elections come what may.

By The Soldier

Pa, This is The Soldier again. Permission to write SIR. My able boss we just finished our Saturday meeting at our head quarters in Dakar, we have received a lot of updates from Banjul. We are working on many stories. One story is that very soon the vice president will be replaced by the tourism minister, TIME WILL TELL. The other update we have for you my able boss is that dictator Jammeh sickness is getting worst. He is taking some medicine which makes him sleep a lot and when he is awake he talks very slow. Do you know that dictator Jammeh refused to have surgery in France. When the whole procedure was explained to him, he refused surgery and issued directives that he should fly back home. He wanted a quick surgery and did not want to stay in France for a long time. Devil Zeinab was very mad at dictator Jammeh and that is one of the reasons why she did not come back.
