BRUTAL SPY CHIEF YANKS BADJIE FIRED!!!
Gambia’s most unprofessional and inexperienced brutal spy chief Yankuba Badjie has been dismissed with immediate effect, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Badjie is dictator Jammeh’s first casualty in his “Dialogue with the people’s tour” which officially kicked off here on Thursday. Yanks, as he is fondly called in Banjul, never made it to the tour, as Jammeh said he doesn’t want to see him anymore. Jammeh’s decree is final. He hires and fires people working in his government. The disgraced NIA boss was immediately sent packing. Jammeh instructed his “show boy wannabe” Secretary General Momodou Sabally to write to Yanks Badjie to inform him that his services with the NIA has been terminated with immediate effect.
Yanks came to the NIA after his failed US sojourn. Yanks used to reside in the Seattle area as an illegal Immigrant. He later moved to Columbus Ohio, where he resided for some years before his homecoming. He never attended College in the US. He returned home without any professional expertise.
Upon his return to Banjul, he briefly worked with the police before he was coopted into Jammeh’s politicized spy agency. He never stayed long in job on his first hire. He was accused of being an FBI informant and he later got sacked from the Agency. Thanks to the intervention of some close relatives, Badjie was reinstated back to the NIA. He later rose to the position of DG. Yanks has never been an intelligent asset and he will never be one. He has been feeding Jammeh with “misleading and faulty intelligence” during his career at the NIA. Yanks is one of the few NIA chiefs, who has no access to the President. Jammeh never wanted Yanks to brief him directly on matters relating to national security. He has appointed General Saul Badjie to handle state briefings, who would in turn brief him.
Yanks’s Dad Arabo Badjie used to be a Jammeh emissary. Pa Arabo was the guy responsible for the coordination of Jammeh’s marabout spiritual warfare. He used to travel across the West African sub-region. Occasionally, he would travel to Mauritania to buy camel for Jammeh.
During his stint at the NIA, Yanks Badjie was able to transform the Agency as a political agency. He openly practices nepotism and tribalism. He has also been accused of killing the staff morale of NIA officers committed to their profession by denying them promotion. Yanks also favored his immediate people and discriminates hardworking agents, our source said.
Inside the NIA, there is jubilation everywhere. The fall of Yanks Badjie has been highly welcomed. Even the detainees are rejoicing. Yanks left a bad legacy at the NIA. He was responsible for the overcrowding of detainees in cells without according them the right to bail, court hearing, balanced diet, and medical treatment.
Mr. Badjie has been replaced by his Deputy. He is likely to be picked up for questioning.
