GambiaHung-Sheng Lion Dance Theatre group, one of the most celebrated cultural groups in Taiwan will take part in the 5th Kanilai International Cultural Festival which starts Tomorrow, Saturday, May 22nd in Kanilai. 

The much talked about cultural group, according to a press release from the Taiwan Embassy in Banjul, will also grace the Gambian leader,  Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh's 45th birthday celebration. The release further disclosed that Hung-Sheng Lion Dance Theatre group will also grace the much awaited mega tribute concert of the late Michael Jackson on May 29 at the Independence Stadium.

The Taiwanese cultural group will showcase to the audience, the essence of the Taiwanese traditional folk arts such as the Temple Ritual. This is an interesting acrobatic display in the mysterious dance of the eight generals and is usually performed at the head of a parade. There is also the Dragon dance, which was inspired by Chinese mythology. The performers use a delicate variation of different tempos to tell the story of the Dragon king. 

Drumming comes next; in this, the audience will hear thundering drumbeats that shake the mountains. Handkerchief dance and Lion dance on poles and a lot more will also be showcased. The group will also learn the spirit of West African culture.
