But Dr. Momodou Lamin Sedat Jobe was adamant. “If this struggle is to make any progress we need leadership,” says the former director of UNESCO’s division of culture and erstwhile Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs under the regime of Yahya Jammeh. Dr. Jobe’s statement came on the heels of the recently established Raleign Steering Committee and Omar Jallow’s (OJ) much publicized rejection of any portfolio in the Steering Committee as constituted. But that is only part of the story. Dr Jobe, while praising both the rationale for Raleigh and the event itself, is equally concerned about the possible proliferation of even more organizations.

GAMBIA: Where Arrest Represents Innocence & Patriotism

In a civilized society, an arrest is made when there exists a “probable cause” to believe that a person has, or is in a process of committing a crime. But in our little Gambia, being arrested or jailed could come with a complete different meaning, and ironically, a positive one - patriotism!

In other word, if one does not have an arrest-record in present-day Gambia, then that should be a probable cause to suggest that that person is a criminal. To simply put it, what we're witnessing in today's Gambia is daily arrest of the innocent and robbed while the robbers live loose in a tax-payer funded luxuries.

Jammeh Appoints An NIA Panel To Look Into Fatou Camara’s case; Jammeh’s Plane Grounded In The US For Non payment Of Aircraft Maintenance Fee!

Fatou Camara is still under NIA custody. The NIA undercover officer met her yesterday. She reported that Fatou is in a good state of health. The NIA undercover agent has also reported that Fatou is in high spirit.

A panel of investigators have been tasked to look into Fatou’s case. One of the panellists is a senior NIA agent one Yoro Baldeh.  The panel is looking into allegations that Fatou Camara took up a fulltime job with Youssou Ndour’s TFM television station whilst working with Jammeh Musa’s GRTS at the same time.

Gambia Government Is Selling Saudi Hajj Visas For $3,000 US Dollars!

The Gambian government is selling Saudi Visas that were given to the country for free of charge by the Saudi government to enable Gambian Muslims to attend pilgrimage in Mecca in this coming Hajj season, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The Saudi Visas are being sold to Gambians and non Gambians for $3,000 United States Dollars, which is approximately over D95, 000 Gambian dalasi, a knowledgeable source familiar with the deal has told this news medium on Friday. Some rogue personnel of the Gambia International Airline (GIA) and the Jammeh State House have been linked to the alleged scam.
